This study is about believing God chose you for a specific purpose.

When I think of all this, I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the benefit of you Gentiles assuming, by the way, that you know God gave me the special responsibility of extending his grace to you Gentiles. As I briefly wrote earlier, God himself revealed his mysterious plan to me. As you read what I have written, you will understand my insight into this plan regarding Christ.

Ephesians 1:3-4

God has loved you even before the world was created. He thinks about your life and the plans he has put in place in order for you to seek him and find him.

How do you feel knowing how much God cares about you?

I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.

John 15:15-16

God considers you his friend and appoints you to lead. He has chosen you to leave a positive impact on others around you.

How do you see God – as a friend, distant cousin, parent, or stranger?

Write out what you believe God is choosing you to do in your life that will leave a positive influence. Share it with a friend.

The Lord gave me this message: “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.” “O Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”

The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said,

“Look, I have put my words in your mouth! Today I appoint you to stand up against nations and kingdoms. Some you must uproot and tear down, destroy and overthrow. Others you must build up and plant.”

Jeremiah 1:4-10

God says he has set you apart and made special plans for your life. God makes a promise to guide you wherever you go and give you the words to say when you don’t know what to say. God believes in you and trusts you.

How do you think God can help you overcome the fears you have?

Go on a prayer walk and pray about the fears you have. Reread the scripture again and hold onto the promises God makes to always be with you.
