Find purpose and community in small groups

20 minutes from connection. Find spiritual community close to home.

Small groups, big impact.

Jesus was known for his love, and as we walk with him our love for other people grows too. Small groups are where we build deep, spiritually formative, and interdependent friendships — relationships that move beyond acquaintances to a place of mutual support and social impact. By surrounding ourselves with mentors and peers, we help each other stay God-reliant, purposeful, and faithful in our daily lives.

Our leadership

Opportunities to connect throughout the week

Faith is best lived out together, beyond Sundays. Whether you’re looking for a casual chat, a midweek recharge, or a circle of close friends, there’s a space here for you to grow at your own pace.

01

Let’s Talk Nights

Casual Bible discussions in homes, parks, or cafes. These small group settings offer a space to find practical spiritual answers for real-life challenges and develop spiritually formative relationships.

02

Midweek services

Regional gatherings designed to help you recharge. We dive into a focused message and discussion with the people in our small groups.

03

Personal Bible studies

Whether you’re a curious skeptic or a lifelong believer, we offer a relaxed, no-pressure space to explore the Bible at your own pace. These are simple, informal conversations—often in the home or over coffee—where your own questions and schedule drive the discussion.

04

New generations of leadership

We consistently train new leaders, with our ministry staff spans from Baby Boomers to Gen Z.

05

Bivocational leadership

We encourage our staff members to continue developing secular vocations alongside their ministry roles, allowing them to stay connected to their community, build the church, and build their lives.

Groups for every stage of the journey

While our mission is the same, our small groups are as diverse as the Bay Area itself. We organize many of our circles by life stage to ensure you find a community that understands your unique experiences.

Those who are interested in ministry can receive training and experience alongside their career development, making it easy to explore whether ministry is the right path for them.

Our ministry staff members stay connected with the needs of the broader community outside the church through their bivocational roles. Members of our ministry staff are also educators, administrators, web developers, program directors, counselors, and more. These roles enable our staff to meet, serve, and listen to friends and neighbors who might never step into a church building.

By staying involved in the greater community and continuing to develop their professional skills, our staff continually leads the church forward in innovation and excellence.

  • Families: Raising kids together with faith and purpose in one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse regions.

  • Professionals: Making an impact as singles and marrieds without kids while navigating the fast-paced, innovative life of a Bay Area career.

  • College & Teens: Creating spiritual community for students in one of the most competitive and opportunity-rich environments in the world.

  • Children’s & Spiritual Resource Ministry: Helping Bay Area kids discover God early and grow up with the values and purpose to change the world around them.

Common questions about joining a group.

What if I’ve never been to church before?2026-05-05T14:19:55-07:00

Many of our small group members started here with little to no church background. We meet people where they are—whether you’re curious, skeptical, or just looking for community. Most groups include a mix of longtime believers and people exploring faith for the first time.

How long do I need to commit?2026-05-05T14:20:28-07:00

There’s no long-term commitment required. Most groups meet weekly or bi-weekly, and you’re welcome to try a few sessions to see if it’s the right fit, or join as often as you can. If it’s not, we’ll help you find a different group or you can step back anytime!

What’s the difference between Let’s Talk Nights, Midweek Services, and Small Groups?2026-05-05T14:20:37-07:00

Small groups are ongoing communities organized by life stage that are committed to staying connected outside of Sunday services. Let’s Talk Nights are weekly group Bible discussions—a great entry point if you’re exploring faith. Midweek Services are larger regional gatherings for focused teaching and group discussion. You can participate in any combination that fits your schedule. Your local campus staff member can help you decide where to start.

What happens in a typical “Let’s Talk Night” small group meeting?2026-05-05T14:20:56-07:00

Most groups meet for 60-90 minutes and include casual conversation, a brief discussion around a Bible passage or topic, and prayer (if you’re comfortable participating). Some groups also share a meal or meet at coffee shops. The format varies by group, and the BACC campus leader can help you find the right fit.

What if my work schedule is unpredictable?2026-05-05T14:21:17-07:00

We have groups meeting at various times throughout the week—mornings, evenings, and weekends. Some groups are flexible and accommodate rotating schedules. When you connect with a campus staff member, mention your availability and they’ll help find a group that works with your life.

Do I have to attend your church to join a small group?2026-05-05T14:21:42-07:00

Not at all. While many small group members also attend Sunday services, you are welcome to join a group even if you’ve never visited our church. Small groups are open to anyone interested in community and spiritual discovery.

How do I find a group near me?2026-05-05T14:22:03-07:00

Use our contact form to tell us your location and life stage. A staff member from your nearest campus will reach out to help you get connected.

Is there a cost for small groups or personal Bible studies?2026-05-05T14:22:18-07:00

No. All our small group events and personal studies are provided as a free resource to the community.

Can I attend if I’m not a member?2026-05-05T14:22:47-07:00

Absolutely. Most of our groups include people who are simply exploring faith for the first time.
