From accommodation to belonging.

Spiritual Resource Ministry provides inclusive classes and resources for children with special needs and their families.

Our Exceptional Children’s Ministry (E-Ministry) is a special needs-inclusive initiative serving our community through Spiritual Resource Ministry (SRM) and our E-Life and E-Sports programs.

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.”

Proverbs 31:8-9, New Living Translation
Spiritual Resource Ministry

Exceptional care for exceptional families.

For 30 years, Spiritual Resource Ministry (SRM) has provided families with special needs the ability to thrive spiritually and be included in every aspect of the church. Through love and flexibility, we ensure that those with disabilities move from accommodation to belonging.

  • Inclusive Children’s Ministry classes: SRM coordinators work with each family to ensure that kids with disabilities thrive in inclusive children’s ministry classes. While their children’s needs are being met, their parents or guardians can attend the church service.

  • Spiritual support groups: SRM facilitates friendships and inclusion, combating the loneliness and social isolation often experienced among children and families with disabilities. This includes faith-based parent support groups and mentorship through our belief in spiritual formation and interdependent relationships.

  • Inclusive teen and middle school ministries: As children grow into adolescence, their needs change. Spiritual Resource Ministry creates inclusion in these formative years through parent involvement, adapted Bible studies, and fostering friendships between children with special needs and their neurotypical peers.

  • Awareness training: SRM volunteers are educated about many common types of disabilities and how they affect those who experience them. Some of these disabilities include sensory processing needs, autism, anxiety and emotional health challenges, Down syndrome, ADHD, and cognitive delays.

  • Accommodations for special events, conferences, and services: SRM ensures that all of our larger events are accessible and have disability support for families and individuals.

E-Sports & E-Life:

Fun and friendship, free for families.

E-Sports and E-Life are free community programs initiated by members of the Bay Area Christian Church where kids of all abilities play sports or do other fun activities together. These programs help kids build inclusive friendships, which has great benefits for both neurotypical and neurodivergent children. E-Life and E-Sports programs have collaborative partnerships with the Golden State Warriors, San Jose Earthquakes, and other local leaders.
