*Some call it a quiet time. We call it a Vision Quest. This is a simple Bible study to help you along your journey of discovering God’s purpose for your life.

What the world needs is strong women and faithful men.  These people are game changers.  When anyone walks with God, they become these kinds of people.  These people change and impact the lives of others.  This study is to help us grow to becoming these kinds of people.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,  because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

James 1:2-5

Becoming a strong woman and faithful man is becoming a person who never quits or gives up.

What makes you quit?  What have you given up on that you regret?  What about your character do you want to overcome?

Learning to develop the faith to persevere makes all the difference in our lives.

When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

James 1:13-15

In order to become strong and faithful as people, we must be able to overcome our desires.

What desires are driving you?  Is this from God or from you?

What are your top 3 desires?  What do you think God desires for you?

Start making yourself be aware of your top 2-3 driving desires that affect your life.  Find scriptures to help you fight and change these desires.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires.

2 Timothy 3:1-6

These are the sins that make women weak and men unfaithful.  In order to become a strong woman and faithful man, we must be willing to face our sins and overcome them.

What are your top 2-3 sins from this list that you must face? Admit and overcome in order to become strong and faithful

Start by praying about them and allowing your friends to teach you how to overcome them.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

The word of God gives us everything we need in order to change and become strong.

Do you read and apply the bible daily?  Are you vulnerable with God and your friends about your sins, weaknesses so they are able to teach you to overcome?

Start by practicing this today.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord

Acts 3:19

Repentance and change makes us strong.  This scripture says that there will be refreshment when there is repentance.

What is one thing that you can repent of today that would change your life?

Identify what it is and talk to God and talk to your friends about it.
