About this video
Welcome to our first “Let’s Talk” Night! Why did we decide to start with the topic of unity? The Bible tells us in Genesis 11:6 that when people are unified, nothing is impossible for them. Unity is how we experience our impossible dreams. Join us as we talk about being unified in our passion for loving God, doing good, keeping the Bible as our standard, and growing to become like Jesus.
We are a large church, and as we grow larger we want the church to feel small — a place where we are known and can know people, where we can grow together as we serve our communities. We’ve learned that building in this way is best done in house churches, which are groups small enough to meet in a house or backyard. “Let’s Talk” Night is an opportunity to meet with a small group of friends during the week and connect through spiritual conversations. Feel free to invite new friends to join these conversations, too.
These smaller events will replace midweek services and Bible Talks. Each week, we’ll provide you with about 15 minutes of digital content to start you off, and then you can keep talking as long as you like. Our first episode is called “Let’s Talk About Unity.” Why did we decide to start with the topic of unity? The Bible tells us in Genesis 11:6 that when people are unified, nothing is impossible for them. Unity is how we experience our impossible dreams. Jesus teaches us that the world won’t believe a disunified group of people: “I ask not only on behalf of these, but also on behalf of those who will believe in me through their word, [21] that they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
[22] The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one, [23] I in them and you in me, that they may become completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. John 17:20-23 NRSVIn this first episode, join us as we talk about being unified in our passion for loving God, doing good, keeping the Bible as our standard, and growing to become like Jesus.
