Change amazes people.

And lack of change is notable, too! Sometimes family and friends just blurt out what hasn’t changed…

Change comes from having faith in the person that God has vision for us to become.

[31] “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. [32] But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”

Luke 22:31-32 NLT

This is a new year!
You can make a comeback!

God views us differently than we view ourselves.
He sees what we can become.
He sees the difference we can make.

When we believe and when our faith and relationship with God is strong, God changes us from the inside out.

How do you need to change ?

Ask yourself…. Am I Tired? Selfish? Deceitful? Other challenges? You name it—you can change it. We all need a second chance for change.

Identify the Mountain

[22] Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. [23] I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart.

Mark 11:22-23 NLT

What is the one thing that, if you changed, would make a huge positive difference?

We all have a mountain—what is yours?

Our recognition of the mountain will determine if and how we move it.

Eyes of Pride

Have you ever been in denial?
Playing basketball as if you were 15 years younger,
Running fast up the stairs, as if you were in athletic shape.

Pride blinds us.

What has your pride blinded you from seeing?

Eyes of Faith

Faith gets us to the mountain.
Faith helps us have the courage to face what we need to change.

And we need perseverance to move the mountain.

We must keep going and never quit.

Change: When Faith Meets Perseverance

[2] Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, [3] because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. [4] Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James 1:2-4 NIV

You will experience trials.
Overcoming requires patience… with yourself and with others.

The trials help us become who we are meant to be.
Decide to change today: to be honest, to get out of denial, to get back up on the horse.

Know your mountain. Study it. Do bible studies about it.
Pick one scripture to memorize.
Find a group of friends who can help you.

God will help you change!
