With two decades of leadership experience, Sean and his wife, Mandy, oversee a diverse community of families and professionals  in the epicenter of Silicon Valley.

Sean brings a background in engineering and a devotion to social impact to his leadership of our Palo Alto campus. While pursuing a degree in chemical engineering at UC Berkeley, he joined the BACC’s student leadership training program. This dual-track education allowed him to master complex problem-solving and systems thinking while developing a spiritual approach to  leadership. Following his graduation from Berkeley, Sean began his professional career as a chemical engineer at Nanomics and SiPix. His experience in the high-stakes world of engineering in the Bay Area provided him with a unique perspective on leadership, innovation, and vision—qualities he brought with him when he joined our full-time ministry staff in 2006.

Throughout his twenty years of service, Sean has been a primary architect of some of the church’s most impactful initiatives. He was a foundational member of the team that built the BACC’s high school ministry from the ground up, launching the “Y-Ministry”—a program designed to help students and young adults navigate the existential “why” questions of life. His ability to build teams and inspire vision has allowed him to lead thriving college, professional, and family ministries across the Peninsula.

Beyond his role at the church, Sean remains a prominent figure in the Silicon Valley tech landscape, channeling his engineering expertise into ventures with global social impact. He serves as a developer at Tecarta, Inc., the creator of Life Bible—a mobile platform with over 2 million worldwide users. Additionally, he is the lead software developer at Digital Scribbler, Inc., an inclusive technology non-profit. Through this work, Sean develops cutting-edge tools that empower individuals with disabilities to overcome barriers to communication and participation. By bridging the gap between spiritual leadership and software development, Sean exemplifies a modern vision of service where technical excellence is used to elevate the human experience.
