Look here, what’s done is done and gone. The now is new, and there’s hope in the not-yet. I will tell you what’s to come, even before the events are brand-new.

– Isaiah 42:9 Voice

One of the things Amy and I love about this verse is that it shows us how God can and wants to make everything new in our lives, rather than letting us remain stuck in the past. This gives us hope that despite the setbacks or disappointments we might face, God always has something brand new ahead for us. This is why, with God on our side, we can begin 2023 full of hope and vision!

There’s no better way to kick off the new year than spending time with friends who also believe in the God of the “new.”
Over the last few weeks, we’ve been inspired to see people from all over the Bay Area coming together to start the new year off with faith and vision.

Ripples of faith from live stream services

Over the holidays, we put our church services online and give more people in more places the opportunity to watch. Faith was built as each live stream service helped us understand that with God “The Best Is Yet to Come”, and how through the Scriptures and message of the Gospel, God equips us with the “Courage to Believe.”  People from around the Bay Area, the country, and the world tuned in to get their faith ready, set, and new for 2023!  We love hearing stories of people watching church with their extended families on Christmas Day who might not otherwise have heard the message of hope about Peter and being willing to try again.

The live stream service also introduced a new 7-day study series on the Book of Acts from our friends at Deep Spirituality to kick off our new year with The Boldness of Belief!

New connections at the Masquerade Ball

On New Year’s Eve, almost 200 people rang in 2023 at a “Masquerade Ball” hosted by our professionals ministry at the beautiful Emeryville Hilton. Those who came were excited to see old friends and make new ones from all around the Bay Area.  These new connections led to friends having spiritual conversations and setting up future hangouts and dates across the Bay Area counties. The DJs had the dance floor packed and lively all night. The smiles and energy in the room were strong and so many people expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be together in a fun and inspiring environment.

Ready, set, new for the San Francisco Campus

Here in San Francisco, students from all over the Bay Area danced the night away while enjoying a night of music and fun hosted by the San Francisco campus ministry. With food, festive decorations, a photo booth, games, and dancing,  not one person left without having their faith encouraged and heart refreshed. At midnight everyone toasted the New Year together sharing visions and goals while singing favorite songs together to make their start to 2023 truly unforgettable. The SF campus is ready and set for a new year!

“Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name.”

– Psalm 86:11 TPT

As we begin this new year, let’s look for the even greater ways God desires to work and move in our lives. Let’s walk onward to help new relationships grow and together experience new dreams come true in 2023!

Until next time,
