How Does God Want to Make Me Happy?

We hear it all the time- “God has a plan for you.” “God cares about you.” “God wants you to be happy.” But do you ever have a hard time believing that? When hard times come, we can immediately forget how much God wants us to be happy. These Scriptures remind us of how God will make us happy if we try to be close to him.

Psalms 37:4 NLT
Take delight in the lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.

Matthew 6:25-26, 31-33 NLT
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Deuteronomy 11:13-15 NLT
“If you carefully obey the commands I am giving you today, and if you love the lord your God and serve him with all your heart and soul, then he will send the rains in their proper seasons—the early and late rains—so you can bring in your harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil. He will give you lush pastureland for your livestock, and you yourselves will have all you want to eat.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
