In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16

When Compassion leads someone to take action and do something good, it gets noticed.  E-Soccer, is an inclusive soccer program where typical and special needs children participate along side one another.  It has attracted the attention of the CBS News when E-Soccer founder Russ Ewell was presented the Jefferson Award for Bay Area community impact.  The late Congressional Representative Tom Lantos took notice and presented Russ Ewell with a Congressional Citation for his efforts promoting volunteerism in the community.

In addition, local media have taken notice.  The San Francisco Chronicle, the San Jose Mercury News, the SJSU Spartan Daily have each written about good deeds being done through volunteers serving in E-Soccer.

Recently, the City of Pleasanton has recognized these good deeds when they honored E-Soccer volunteers and coordinators Brock and Anne Roby of the Bay Area Christian Church that meets in Contra Costa South .  Brock and his wife Anne were named Pleasanton’s Couple of the Year for 2013 for their efforts serving the special needs community through E-Soccer.

Brock was also the recipient of the Pleasanton Mayor’s Award of 2013 for his service to the Pleasanton community.

He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God!’
Acts 10:31

Our community notices good deeds but more importantly good deeds are noticed by God.  It is great to see the number of people that have been encouraged by the many volunteers who serve our communities through efforts like E-Soccer.
