When we go through hard times, we can lose sight of God’s plan and his protection. This scripture list can help focus your mind during hard times while you learn to grow during them.

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:11-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:15‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:10-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“But you, Timothy, certainly know what I teach, and how I live, and what my purpose in life is. You know my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance. You know how much persecution and suffering I have endured. You know all about how I was persecuted in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—but the Lord rescued me from all of it. Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:3-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“For even Christ didn’t live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, “The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me.” Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled. May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:8-10‬ ‭NLT
“Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool. Don’t long for “the good old days.” This is not wise.”‬‬

2 Peter 3:15 NLT
And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭33:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“But LORD, be merciful to us, for we have waited for you. Be our strong arm each day and our salvation in times of trouble.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.””

‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
“We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
