Vision Quest – Make A Difference

*Some call it a quiet time. We call it a Vision Quest. This is a simple Bible study to help you along your journey of discovering God’s purpose for your life.

Living life with a purpose is the best life you can live.  You will be the happiest when you live your life for God.

Does your life in Christ give you strength? Does his love comfort you? Do we share together in the spirit? Do you have mercy and kindness? If so, make me very happy by having the same thoughts, sharing the same love, and having one mind and purpose.

Philippians 2:1-2

God gives to us, so we give to others. We get strength, comfort, and close relationships from being close to God. It makes God really happy when we are loving other people and working together for the same purpose.

What has God given you that you can give back? Who do you need to work together with?

Choose someone from camp that you can relate to and do something nice for them today.

Pilate replied, “But you are a king then?” “Yes,” Jesus said. “I was born for that purpose. And I came to bring truth to the world. All who love the truth are my followers.”

John 18:37

Jesus’ knew his purpose. Jesus believed he was born for a reason.

What purpose were you born for? God is looking for people who love truth.  Are you someone that loves truth?

Decide to love the truth today by telling the truth.

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

Colossians 3:12-14

People living by their purpose are awesome. God chose you to live a new life.

What does he want you to do with it? Love others! You can have qualities that you never thought that you could have! You can be kind, humble, even tempered, but most of all loving!

Which one of these qualities do you need to put on the most?

Who do you need to show that quality to?

But you know all about my teachings, my way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, and my endurance.

2 Timothy 3:10

Being Known. God wants us to be known…everything about us- your life, purpose, who you love and how you handle hard things.

Who knows all about you? Do people you go to school with know you are seeking God?

Decide to let people around you know what you are all about

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Romans 8:28

Life is good when we live according to our purpose. Whatever happens in your life, God can use it for the good.  God helps us to live out our purpose when we love him.

How can you live according to your purpose today? How can you love someone today?

Decide to trust that God will use whatever hard thing that is happening in your life right now for your good and the good of others.
