It doesn’t always seem pleasant to be honest about every area of our lives. Most of us have things we wish no one would know about us. However, These Scriptures show us how honesty will actually make our lives more enjoyable.
1 Kings 9:4
But you must walk faithfully with me, just as your father David did. Your heart must be honest. It must be without blame. Do everything I command you to do. Obey my rules and laws.
1 Chronicles 29:17
My God, I know that you tested our hearts. And you are pleased when we are honest. I’ve given all these things just because I wanted to. When I did it, I was completely honest with you. Your people here have also been willing to give to you. And I’ve been happy to see this.
I’m sure God doesn’t turn his back on anyone who is honest. And he doesn’t help those who do what is evil.
The Most High God is like a shield that keeps me safe. He saves those whose hearts are honest.
The Lord always does what is right. So he loves it when people do what is fair. Those who are honest will enjoy his blessing.
Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone.
Good things come to those who do what is right. Joy comes to those whose hearts are honest.
The Lord says, “Go up and down the streets of Jerusalem. Look around. Think about what you see. Search through the market. See if you can find one honest person who tries to be truthful. If you can, I will forgive this city.
But the seed on good soil stands for those with an honest and good heart. Those people hear the message. They keep it in their hearts. They remain faithful and produce a good crop.
