About Ray
Together, they form a co-leadership team with Sam and Tenea Manuel to manage the day-to-day ministry and decisions across all BACC campuses. Ray and Amy also provide direct leadership for BACC’s campus in San Francisco.
As a graduate of UC Berkeley with degrees in History and Asian Studies, Ray developed a deep understanding of the social and cultural dynamics that shape the Bay Area. This academic background served as a training ground for building bridges across diverse populations.
Now with three decades of leadership experience, Ray’s impact is tangible not only in the church but also in the community through his dual role as a premier advocate for neurodiversity and disability inclusion. As the executive director of E-Hoops SF and the director of community engagement for E-Sports, he has been the driving force behind partnerships with world-class organizations, including the Golden State Warriors, Golden State Valkyries, UC Berkeley, The Matthew Foundation, and the University of San Francisco. By spearheading these partnerships through E-Sports, Ray has opened the door for athletic programs to drive systemic change and foster inclusion across the Bay Area.
Whether he is teaching in San Francisco or coordinating large-scale athletic programs, Ray leverages his decades of experience to champion a culture of social innovation and impact—proving that true ministry is measured by the strength of the community it builds.
