About Ray

Ray has three decades of ministry experience, and he brings deep biblical teaching to our leadership team along with a consistent drive to do good in the community. Ray and Amy oversee leadership development and training across the BACC’s San Francisco, Palo Alto, Sunnyvale, and San Jose campuses, equipping our staff to serve and strengthen communities.

In addition to his ministry role, Ray is a passionate advocate for inclusivity in the special needs community. He serves as the executive director of E-Hoops SF, an inclusive sports program that he and Amy lead in partnership with BACC and E-Life. He is also the director of community engagement for E-Sports.

As a father of two children who have participated and coached in the program, Ray’s belief in the impact of inclusion is personal. He works with schools, nonprofits, and civic partners to serve families and communities across San Francisco. He has been instrumental in building partnerships with the UC Berkeley Cameron Institute for Student-Athlete Development, University of San Francisco, the Golden State Warriors and Valkyries, and The Matthew Foundation so that more families can experience an inclusive and compassionate society.

Ray is a graduate of UC Berkeley with degrees in history and Asian studies, and he was the first graduate from the UC Berkeley Center for Korean Studies. He has always been driven to understand diverse cultures so that he could bring about positive change for people of all walks of life.

Ray’s faith in God has been a guiding force in both his ministry leadership and his community outreach. His understanding of Jesus’s heart for the overlooked and marginalized fuels him to expand opportunities so people of every ability are welcomed and included. As an active community leader in San Francisco and a passionate advocate for the inclusion of people with disabilities, Ray instills in the church a deep belief in doing good for everyone, regardless of religious affiliation.

Ray also writes as a guest contributor for Deep Spirituality, sharing spiritual lessons from the Scriptures and his life to help others develop faith and care for those around them.
