About Brian

With over 20 years of leadership experience, Brian and Rosalind also provide executive direction for the West Bay high school and middle school ministries, managing mentorship programs and camps at the BACC that serve hundreds of students annually.

Brian’s leadership is defined by a level of discipline and perseverance found only at the highest tiers of international competition. His path to ministry was forged through a decorated career in American judo. As a 10-time U.S. national champion and a long-standing former member of the U.S. national team, he developed a foundational understanding of how to build resilience, sustain high-level commitment, and mentor others toward peak performance. He now channels that championship mentality into the Sunnyvale campus, fostering a community culture built on strength, depth of faith, and an unwavering care for every individual.

A San Jose native and graduate of San Jose State University, Brian’s investment in the South Bay has been characterized by his ability to bridge the gap between elite athletics and community advocacy. Beyond his ministry roles, he continues to coach at a local dojo and spent years as a lead volunteer coach for E-Karate, an inclusive program for neurodivergent youth. Brian also founded E-Fitness—an innovative program where neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals train together to experience the social, emotional, and physical benefits of conditioning. As head coach, he brings the same intensity and devotion to the fitness mat that he brings to the pulpit, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to helping every person reach their full potential.
