On June 1, our church is coming together for a special opportunity to give. We call it Special Contribution, because it is a chance to invest in our future and to share the dreams of God with the next generation. There are countless reasons to participate in giving… personal gratitude for what God has done, faith in how God is moving, and conviction about the power of sacrifice.

In the Old Testament, there were foundational moments in time where God put dreams on the hearts of men and women to join together and build something incredible. For example, it was during these times that God’s people built (and rebuilt) the Temple of God, the Tabernacle, and even entire cities and walls. This is the opportunity we have before us with Special Contribution—to see God’s Kingdom move forward again in an amazing way.

21 All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the Lord. They brought all the materials needed for the Tabernacle, for the performance of its rituals, and for the sacred garments. 22 Both men and women came, all whose hearts were willing.

Exodus 35:21-22 NLT

Looking forward at what is ahead, it’s hard not to be inspired about how God is moving!

Y-Interns and Campus Summer Interns

This year is no exception. We hire on a select group of high school students and college students over the summer to train them how to lead and make God attractive. They play major roles in the musical performances at our major events, serve as counselors at our summer Y-Camps, learn to study the Bible with high school and college students, and do so much more. It’s amazing that we have such incredible students who are eager to be trained, and equally amazing that we have a church capable of training and inspiring these young adults to become spiritual leaders in our church, community, and local schools.

Vision Quest – Middle School and High School Camps

Over 400 students attended our camps last summer (and the number is growing every year). The world is fighting for the hearts and minds of these kids in countless ways, so we must not underestimate or forget how amazing it is that we have camps that these same kids love and flock to every year. And don’t think they are watered down day camps. They aren’t. They take each middle school and teenager exactly where they are at, and then inspire them about how attractive God is for them. Each year, these camps leave many of these young adults making decisions that will influence the kind of men and women they will become, and kick off summers that they will never forget.

Shoreline 2014: GLIMPSE

June 8, 11 am – Shoreline Amphitheater, Mountain View

Every year at Shoreline Amphitheater, BACC friends and family gather for an exciting opportunity to build great memories together at the same legendary venue that has seen musicians and performances of the absolute highest caliber. Our Shoreline Service, entitled Glimpse, will be no exception, as people pack the seats and mark their spots in the grass for a great afternoon filled with music, food and fun.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament – Participate in one of the summer’s most competitive hoops tournament, taking place in the Shoreline parking lot immediately following the service.

Above the Rim Hoops League

Some churches have church basketball leagues. We don’t. We just have a real basketball league. The point is that our church and our basketball league are entirely focused on community, not ourselves. This is one of the most competitive basketball leagues in the Bay Area, with a number of Division 1 athletes participating each year. Our Above the Rim Hoops League builds family, builds community, and makes God attractive for all to see.
