Everyone wants friends. However, we don’t always know how to build deep relationships. Deep relationships require a deep love, and this kind of love only comes from God. If we are loaded down with guilt and sin, we will be disconnected from God and distant from relationships around us.

But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin.
1 John 1:17

Questions

Do people around me know what is going on in my life (things I feel guilty, sad, angry, etc. about)?
If we are not real with God about what is going on in our lives, we won’t be real with people around us. To have a “shared life” with friends, in our dating relationship, or with our spouse we have to choose to be open about our daily struggles.
What are the things in my life that are keeping me in the darkness?
When we remain in guilt, bitterness, anger, or jealousy when we become isolated from God and people. We need to decide to pray about these things and let others know what sins we are struggling with.

Additional Thoughts

Decide to share your life with God and others so that you can have spiritual friendships based on love.
