All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Internship Program at the Bay Area Christian Church is an individualized mentorship program that develops leadership skills, spiritual awareness, and an inspiring sense of community. Students receive hands-on training by experts in fields such as engineering, web design, education, and finance. Interns not only build essential job skills but also develop character, compassion, and lifelong friendships.

Five fundamental things that interns learn:

1. Leadership

Innovation is encouraged and creativity is fostered during the internship. Leadership does not come from keeping and following tradition, it comes from a forward thinking mindset which paves new ways to change lives. Through the bible each intern can have the courage to be different and become a leader that changes the world.

2. Spiritual Awareness

Everyone has an innate desire to fulfill their purpose but we do not always understand what that means. Through the internship, students learn to become aware of their purpose by using the bible as they develop integrity, emotional honesty, and faith.

3. Job Skills

Other skills that interns have opportunities to learn include accounting, event planning, public relations, and web development. Public speaking and communication with multiple vendors for events are also key parts of an intern’s experience .

4. Character/ Compassion

Volunteering for programs and activities that serve the community is a significant component of the internship. Jesus believed that he could change the world by changing people, and like him, we want to change the world by being connected to the community by doing good.

5. Technology

Today, some of our interns are trained by veteran software engineers on web development through google web toolkit, mobile development using android and iOS environments, user interface design, and video production. Technology is a tool for innovation for good in communities and a tool to inspire people to be connected to God and each other.
