You formed the way I think and feel. You put me together in my mother’s womb. [14] I praise you because you made me in such a wonderful way. I know how amazing that was! [23] God, examine me and know my mind. Test me and know all my worries. [24] Make sure that I am not going the wrong way. Lead me on the path that has always been right.

Psalm 139:13-14, 23-24 ERV

One of the most important parts of building a close, personal friendship with God is getting to know yourself.

If you don’t really understand yourself – why you think and feel the way you do, what you tend to worry about, what your strengths and weaknesses are, and so on – you will have a hard time knowing what to talk to God about and knowing what you need his help with.

Once you know yourself, you begin to learn what you need from God. If you tend to stuff your emotions, God can help you to be aware, honest, and vulnerable. If you tend to worry what people think of you, God can help you become secure and confident.

We learn from Psalm 139 that God already understands us, and he can help us understand ourselves. With that in mind, we’ve put together a Self-Discovery Quiz with some questions that we hope will help each of us get to know ourselves, our emotions, and our strengths and weaknesses better so that we can deepen our friendship with God.

Please note, this quiz is only meant to teach you fun ways of asking yourself questions and better understanding yourself. At the end of the quiz, you’ll be matched up with one of Marvel’s Avengers who shares your strengths and weaknesses. You might feel that some of the results describe you accurately, and some do not. That’s okay. Just have fun learning to ask yourself questions and discovering more about yourself from the way you answer them.

Explore me, O God, and know the real me. Dig deeply and discover who I am. Put me to the test and watch how I handle the strain.
