We all know people in our lives who are givers and takers. There are those who are only out for themselves, looking to make themselves feel and look good without much regard for the live of those around them. These are the takers. Then there are the givers. These are the people who are constantly looking to help others be great, make someone else’s day, and putting others’ needs above their own.

Which are you today? It can be easy to get caught up in our own lives, feeling like we need to look out for ourselves because we think no one else will. God and the Bible say this is not true. True happiness is found in loving and giving to others, helping them become great. If you are having a hard time being loving, wanting to stay focused on your self, or simply just want to grow in giving to others, these scriptures are for you.

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:25
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Galatians 6:7-10 VOICE
Make no mistake: God can’t be mocked. What you give is what you get. What you sow, you harvest. Those who sow seeds into their flesh will only harvest destruction from their sinful nature. But those who sow seeds into the Spirit shall harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. May we never tire of doing what is good and right before our Lord because in His season we shall bring in a great harvest if we can just persist. So seize any opportunity the Lord gives you to do good things and be a blessing to everyone, especially those within our faithful family.

‭‭Mark‬ ‭2:2-5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
“They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. Some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man, carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.””

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37 ‭TPT‬‬
“Jesus answered him, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’”

Luke 6:35-36 MSG
I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You’ll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we’re at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind.

2 Corinthians 8:11-12 TLB
Having started the ball rolling so enthusiastically, you should carry this project through to completion just as gladly, giving whatever you can out of whatever you have. Let your enthusiastic idea at the start be equalled by your realistic action now. 12 If you are really eager to give, then it isn’t important how much you have to give. God wants you to give what you have, not what you haven’t.

Matthew 6:30-33 MSG
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
