La Voix Droite

L’une des qualités les plus incroyables de Dieu est le fait qu’Il désire  donner une voix à tous, même à ceux qui ne peuvent s’exprimer.

Dieu veut nous aider à trouver notre voix  car Il sait qui nous sommes intérieurement (Psaume 139), et veut  nous aider à l’exprimer extérieurement pour que l’on puisse devenir le meilleur de nous-même.

Un jour, comme il longeait le lac de Galilée, il vit *Simon et André, son frère. Ils lançaient un filet dans le lac, car c’étaient des pêcheurs.

“Jésus leur dit:
—Suivez-moi et je ferai de vous des pêcheurs d’hommes.

Ils abandonnèrent aussitôt leurs filets et le suivirent.”

Marc 1: 16-18

Ayant eu l’occasion de faire partie du milieu sportif professionnel en France à travers le basket, j’ai toujours cru que la voix  la plus importante, celle qui pouvait avoir le plus d’impact, était celle qui appartenait à celui qui avait le plus de talent. Aujourd’hui je comprends que la voix  la plus forte est celle de l’amour.

En effet, supposons que je parle les langues des hommes et même celles des *anges: si je n’ai pas l’amour, je ne suis rien de plus qu’une trompette claironnante ou une cymbale bruyante.

Une Voix de l’Amour

C’est à l’occasion de programme tel “E-Soccer” que j’ai réellement  l’opportunité d’avoir une influence positive dans la communauté  où je peux aider d’autres personnes à trouver leur voix  et à s’exprimer.

E-Soccer est un programme de foot bénévole qui favorise l’intégration d’enfants handicapés (mentaux et physiques) ainsi que non handicapés.L’un de mes amis, qui a un handicap mental et participe au programme depuis plusieurs années, m’a dit lors d’une conversation sur son handicap:

“dès ma naissance, les docteurs ont dit à mes parents que je ne pourrais pas avoir d’amis. Ils ont eu tort.”

Après avoir intégré le programme sportif en qualité de participant à un jeune âge, il y est maintenant entraîneur.  Il a  réussi à trouver sa voix , et grâce à cela, il aide les autres à trouver la leur.

The Right Voice

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.

One of God’s most incredible qualities is that He wants to give everyone a voice; even those who cannot express themselves.

God wants to help us find our voice, because he knows the depth of who we really are (Psalm 139) and wants to help us express it so we can reach our full potential

As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”  At once they left their nets and followed him.

Having the opportunity to play professional Basketball in France, I always believed that the most important voice, the one with the most impact, belonged to the person with the most talents. Now, I understand that the most powerful voice is one of love.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

A Voice for Love

It’s through programs like E-Soccer that I truly have the opportunity to have a positive influence in the community; where I can help others find their voices and express themselves.  E-Soccer is a volunteer-based inclusive program seeking to integrate both special needs and typical children. One of my friends, who has special needs and has been part of the program for many years, told me once as we were discussing his disabilities,

“When I was born, the doctors told my parents that I couldn’t make any friends. They were wrong.”

After starting at a young age as a player in the program, he is now a coach. He was able to find his voice, and because of that, he’s helping others find theirs.
