Life becomes a grind when we lose sight of our purpose of why we are here. God has a plan for each of our lives and part of our life journey is finding our personal “why.” Sometimes we think we know what it is, but God is actually directing us in a different way.

If you don’t know your “why” or feel like you have lost it, these Scriptures are for you.

Jeremiah 1:4-5 NIV
The word of the LORD came to me, saying, [5] “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Acts 17:26-27 NIV
From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. [27] God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us.

Acts 26:16-19 NIV
‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. [17] I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them [18] to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’ [19] “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven.

Proverbs 16:9 ERV
People can plan what they want to do, but it is the LORD who guides their steps.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27 NLT
So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. [27] I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.

John 10:10 TLB
The thief’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.

Psalm 119:105 ERV
Your word is like a lamp that guides my steps, a light that shows the path I should take.

Luke 5:32 TLB
My purpose is to invite sinners to turn from their sins, not to spend my time with those who think themselves already good enough.”

1 Samuel 12:24 Voice
Make this your one purpose: to revere Him and serve Him faithfully with complete devotion because He has done great things for you.

Romans 6:12-13 TPT
Sin is a dethroned monarch; so you must no longer give it an opportunity to rule over your life, controlling how you live and compelling you to obey its desires and cravings. [13] So then, refuse to answer its call to surrender your body as a tool for wickedness. Instead, passionately answer God’s call to keep yielding your body to him as one who has now experienced resurrection life! You live now for his pleasure, ready to be used for his noble purpose..

Isaiah 43:10 Voice
Eternal One: You are My witnesses; You are My proof. You whom I chose for special purpose, My servant, in order that you would know Me, trust Me, be faithful to Me, Understand that I alone am God; no god was formed before Me, and there will be no god after Me.

Jeremiah 32:39-41 Voice
I will unite them behind a single desire and purpose: to revere and worship Me forever for their own good and for the good of all who will come after them. [40] I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop blessing them with good things, and I will put in them a fear and respect of Me so they will not turn their backs to Me again. [41] It will be My great joy to do good things for them, and you can be sure that I will devote Myself completely to planting them anew in this land.

Proverbs 4:25-27 TPT
Set your gaze on the path before you. With fixed purpose, looking straight ahead, ignore life’s distractions. [26] Watch where you’re going! Stick to the path of truth, and the road will be safe and smooth before you. [27] Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked for even a moment or take the detour that leads to darkness.

Proverbs 19:21 TPT
A person may have many ideas concerning God’s plan for his life, but only the designs of his purpose will succeed in the end.
