For decades, BACC has been devoted to knowing God and making God known in the Bay Area and beyond. We are passionate about making a positive impact in a world that doesn’t always see organized religion in a positive light. Because of this passion, BACC has been catching the attention of national media outlets in recent weeks.

We are excited to share a new podcast episode with you today featuring our executive minister, Russ Ewell!

The global reach of Church Leadership Lab: Russ recently appeared as a guest on Church Leadership Lab, a podcast produced by MinistryBrands, which serves 90,000 purpose-driven organizations worldwide. This podcast provides a place where leaders in the Church community can share stories of what they are doing locally to empower others around the world to build healthy churches.

When Christians are authentic: In this episode, Russ shared about the importance of being authentic and using accessible language in digital media. As we do, we can each make the message of the Bible accessible to the increasing percentage of people who are searching for spirituality but may be turned off by organized religion.

The growing search for spirituality: This kind of spiritual innovation and authenticity is crucial right now because of the growing population of Americans who classify themselves as religious “nones.”

We are thrilled that the innovative church we are building here in the Bay Area is becoming an example to the world around us in making God’s message more accessible.

Why we are passionate about reaching ‘nones’

As the apostle Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 9:22, our desire to share God’s message of faith, hope, and love with the world is rooted in empathy.

“I’ve been broken, lost, depressed, oppressed, and weak that I might find favor and gain the weak. I’m flexible, adaptable, and able to do and be whatever is needed for all kinds of people so that in the end I can use every means at my disposal to offer them salvation. I do it all for the gospel and for the hope that I may participate with everyone who is blessed by the proclamation of the good news.”

1 Corinthians 9:22-23 Voice

Our own experiences with pain, suffering, challenges, and disillusionment have given us not only a deep sense of compassion for those undergoing similar trials but also an understanding that not everyone sees God as the answer.

As more people are searching for spirituality, we are inspired by the ways God is leading us to help people find the answers they are looking for.
