The Bay Area Christian Church is excited to host on July 19th at 4:00pm The Gospel According to Mark.  As an extension to our June Y-Camps entitled Vision Quest, we are presenting this to the Middle School campers and their families.  This one man, dramatic presentation of life during the first century, will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you feel like you, too, are an eyewitness to the most extraordinary story ever told.

This event is made possible by a long term friendship between Steve Johnson and Russ Ewell, who both share a passion for using novel and groundbreaking ways to bring scriptures to life.  Russ innovates with technology while helping the community with grassroots projects like E-Soccer and E-Karate, while Steve has traveled around the world doing his theatrical sermons, inspiring those to see the gospel in a creative way. Russ and Steve’s relationship has spanned over 30 years.

The Bay Area Christian Church will use The Gospel According to Mark to continue to improve their children’s ministry curriculum, teaching about God and the Bible to young children in innovative and creative ways. The goal is to make the Bible come alive using different mediums. That is how Jesus did it, he told stories, captured the imaginations of the people, young and old, to share about how those who heard him needed to change their hearts and lives. He preached what God put on his heart to share with the masses and he did it in the most cutting edge way at the time.

This will be an exciting weekend with The Gospel According to Mark showing at 4pm this Saturday, July 19th. It is a testament to friendship and using the gifts God has given each one of us to be creative and unified to innovate the Gospel, just as Jesus did.
