About Messer

She brings 25 years of experience to her leadership of our campus in San Leandro and her oversight of BACC’s East Bay college and teen programs alongside her husband Scott.

Originally from Ethiopia, Messer’s path to leadership took her around the globe as she built experience in business and marketing. Messer graduated from CSU East Bay, and her experience in the corporate world equipped her with the skills to navigate the complexities of communication, organizational strategy, and engagement. She now uses that expertise to manage large-scale mentorship programs. She also speaks at and organizes events for hundreds of women each year with a focus on building their faith, leadership, and personal confidence.

Messer’s investment in the community is defined by her passionate advocacy for the marginalized and underserved. She has held a seat on the board of the Regional Center of the East Bay—a critical agency for disability services—and has worked in tandem with the Positive Coaching Alliance as they train mentors in supporting neurodivergent and underprivileged youth.

Messer’s commitment to service goes well beyond Sunday as she serves as an outreach coordinator for E-Life, fostering awareness of their inclusive community programs for individuals with disabilities. By integrating her professional marketing background with her passion for advocacy, she has revolutionized parent outreach and community engagement, ensuring that families of all abilities have the resources they need to thrive.
