Big faith for little hearts

Children’s Ministry provides a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children from 6 months through eighth grade discover the love of God.

“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’”

— Matthew 19:14, New International Version

Fun, faith, and friendship for every child

Getting to know God is a lifelong journey, and there’s no better time to take the first step than in childhood. Children’s Ministry classes at the Bay Area Christian Church nurture kids’ faith and friendships while their parents enjoy the church service. We take great care to ensure that our Children’s Ministry is a safe space where kids learn they are loved by God and have a purpose in their community.

Your child’s safety is our top priority

Every parent wants to know that their child is in the best hands before dropping them off. We want you to rest assured that BACC Children’s Ministry classes across all our campuses meet or exceed all safety requirements and best practices for youth services organizations in the state of California.

Every volunteer undergoes a thorough in-person screening and interview process.

Our age-appropriate teacher-to-student ratios ensure every class is well-supervised.

Our digital check-in system ensures that only authorized parents or guardians can pick up their children.

We hold regular Children’s Ministry training sessions to educate our volunteer teachers on safety protocols, mentorship, and creating engaging lesson plans.

We maintain open communication with parents and welcome any questions about our safety standards.

Fun and learning at every age.

Growing together: Voices from our families

We believe the greatest gift we can give our kids is the opportunity to discover God for themselves. Here is why so many families are making the BACC part of their village.

Becky F., BACC member

Our family loves being part of this church! It’s walkable distance from our house, and the kids look forward to playing with buddies in the kids’ classes.

The families’ ministry has shaped our kids’ faith by giving it real purpose—especially through serving others. It’s powerful for them to grow up in a church where so many people are actively pouring into their spiritual lives.

Every child belongs here.

We believe God should be audible and accessible to everyone. Through our Spiritual Resource Ministry (SRM), we create inclusive Children’s Ministry classes that provide resources for and outreach to families with disabilities. We work with parents to ensure that children with special needs are supported and included with their typically-developing peers in all aspects of the church.

Common questions

What are your Children’s Ministry safety policies and procedures?2026-05-09T13:48:32-07:00

Our Children’s Ministry policies and procedures have been developed by a team of educators, legal professionals, ministers, and parents, and they are regularly updated to reflect all best practices and requirements for youth services organizations in California. This includes teacher training and volunteer screening, evacuation drills, and secure check-in and check-out procedures. Staff members and supervisors also receive Live Scan background checks and mandated reporter training. Your child’s safety is a top priority for us, and we hold our Children’s Ministry policies to the highest possible standards.

What is the adult-to-child ratio in your children’s programs?2026-05-07T14:08:11-07:00

The adult-to-child ratio in our Children’s Ministry classes is age-appropriate and developed in consultation with best practices for youth services organizations. There is always more than one adult present with children.

How are volunteers screened before working with children?2026-05-07T14:07:49-07:00

We do thorough in-person interviews for all volunteers. Our Children’s Ministry screening policies were developed to comply with and/or exceed all requirements for youth services organizations under California AB 506. We consult with an external team of legal advisors to ensure that our procedures meet legal requirements and best practices.

My child has a disability and needs extra support. Can you accommodate children with special needs?2026-05-07T14:07:26-07:00

Yes, providing an inclusive and accessible experience for all families is very important to us. Please contact us before you come if you would like to discuss any specific accommodations or support that your child may need in order to enjoy their experience in Children’s Ministry.
