Couples Night Out is about more than just an evening together; it’s a way to build relationships that help you navigate marriage and family with faith and support. We all need people to walk alongside us, and this is a great place to start.
New Stages, Big Shifts: Thriving in the Chaos of Parenthood
Becoming a parent turns everything upside down—our schedule, our energy, and sometimes our spiritual focus. When we’re knee-deep in diapers or dealing with a toddler meltdown, it’s easy to feel like our faith is on hold. But this season isn’t a detour; it’s one of the most powerful times for God to shape our character and strengthen our homes.
- Scriptures: Psalm 127:3-4, Galatians 6:9, Ecclesiastes 4:9–10, Malachi 2:15, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Psalm 127:1, Proverbs 15:22, 1 Peter 3:8
- Questions to Reflect or Discuss:
- Where have you been relying on yourself instead of God?
- How will you choose humility in marriage and parenting this week?
- How can God use your family’s chaos to shape your children, strengthen your marriage, and make your home a force for change?
The Adventure of a Lifetime: Getting In Tune When You’re Out of Sync
Marriage is an adventure—full of joy, laughter, and shared dreams—but it’s not always 50/50. There will be seasons when one spouse feels spiritually energized while the other feels distant, doubtful, or stuck.
Learning how to stay close, patient, and spiritually hopeful through these seasons is essential to a flourishing relationship. This episode will give you practical ways to help each other stay close to God, live out God’s purpose for your marriage, and keep the adventure alive, even if your rhythms feel out of sync.
- Scriptures: Romans 15:1–2 (NIV), 1 Peter 3:1–7 (ESV), Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 (NIV)
- Questions to Reflect or Discuss:
- Are we honest with each other about where we are spiritually right now?
- How can we help each other stay close to God and live out His purpose together?
- Do we feel safe bringing doubts, weaknesses, or spiritual dry spells to each other?
- How can husbands and wives each demonstrate love, respect, and understanding to strengthen unity?
- What helps us reconnect spiritually with God and each other when we’ve drifted apart?
The Emotional Intelligence Every Couple Needs
Being in love is one thing. Being able to love well—especially in the midst of stress, hurt feelings, or misunderstandings—is something deeper. Many couples struggle in their relationship because emotional intelligence is missing: the ability to listen, regulate reactions, and connect with empathy. In this episode, we’ll break down how emotional intelligence builds deeper intimacy, and how God will help both spouses grow in it—especially if it doesn’t come naturally.
- Scriptures: Proverbs 20:5, Ephesians 4:2-3
- Questions to Reflect or Discuss:
- When we have conflict, do we listen to understand—or defend?
- What emotional habits have we learned that help—or hurt—our connection?
- How open are we to each other’s feedback on how we communicate?
- Which quadrant do you fall in?
Together on Purpose
Raising kids and building a life can pull our attention in many directions, but at the heart of marriage is the belief that God brings two people together on purpose. Yet busy seasons, parenting, and daily pressures can cause couples to drift or lose sight of that vision. This lesson will explore how to reconnect to God’s purpose for your marriage, recognize signs of drifting or division, and rebuild unity by turning back to Him.
- Scriptures: Matthew 28:18-20, Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, Amos 3:3
- Questions to Reflect or Discuss:
- What does “purpose” in our marriage look like right now—are we aligned or out of sync?
- How do we handle it when one of us is spiritually discouraged or checked out?
- What helps us feel like we’re on the same team—not just roommates or co-parents?
