How did this year fly by so fast? Suddenly, we’re in November—the season that is meant to be filled with family traditions, sparkling lights, classic movies, and gatherings around meals that warm both hearts and homes. But, for many, the picture-perfect holiday isn’t always reality. Instead, the season is colored by stress, uncertainty, or the ache of not being able to create the scenes we see in our favorite movies or memories.

A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

Proverbs 11:25 BSB

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good… for God was with Him.

Acts 10:38 NASB

Scripture reminds us there’s another way to approach this time of year. Jesus lived out the message of Proverbs 11:25 in action — he didn’t wait for circumstances to be perfect or families to fit a mold, but met needs, lifted spirits, and did good wherever and with whomever he encountered.

At our church, we believe in making that kind of difference. We’re inspired to follow in Jesus’s footsteps, showing the world who God is—one act of kindness at a time. No matter what happens in our lives, we believe that refreshing others will lead to our own refreshment. And your generosity is what makes that vision possible.

Our four ways to do good

Now through November 16th, we invite you to join our Doing Good Fundraiser. This annual effort lets us meet needs close to home and beyond the Bay Area, through these four core areas:

  • E-Life: Creating inclusive programs for both neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals, side by side.
  • Benevolence: Providing emergency support and hope to members facing urgent, unexpected hardship.
  • Hope Technology School: Partnering with a local, inclusive school that provides life-changing opportunities for students.
  • Disaster Relief: Extending compassion far and wide, supporting people impacted by local and global catastrophes.

Every act of kindness—every gift—reflects the heart of Jesus: to love without limits, to bring hope where it’s needed most, and to change lives. Our annual fundraiser is more than tradition; it’s a living reminder of what’s possible when we turn empathy into action.

Doing good changes lives

Each one should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not out of regret or compulsion. For God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7 BSB

As you look toward the holidays, let’s embrace the true spirit of the season—not just with celebration, but with heartfelt generosity. Let’s be the ones who make a difference, who bring joy, comfort, and tangible help to those around us. The Bible reminds us that giving isn’t about pressure; it’s about choosing from the heart to love and to take action with cheer.

Every donation in the Doing Good Fundraiser tells someone, “You are seen. You are valued. You are loved by God.” We’re confident that as we give cheerfully, God will bless our efforts in ways we can’t imagine.

To participate, visit bacc.cc/doinggood any time before November 16th. This year, let’s make the holidays about more than celebration. Let’s make them a testament to the power of cheerful giving—starting with us, and rippling out to change the world.

Together, we’ll make this season matter for someone who needs it most. Because doing good doesn’t just change others’ lives. It changes ours, too.
