Last week, we had an incredible service at Shoreline Amphitheatre!

The crowd of over 5,500 people got to hear the message about how to find true happiness with God. From the inspiring lesson to the baptisms and basketball tournament, God was stirring all of our hearts to live for something greater.

The inspiration we experienced on Sunday doesn’t have to end. In fact, we are just getting started. Today, we’d like to recap the message for you and talk about where we are going for the rest of the summer.

A “Made for More” recap

The world is hurting—and it’s too unhappy for us not to work hard at bringing happiness into people’s lives. That’s exactly what our theme, “Made for More,” is all about.

Happiness matters. And while the world offers temporary fixes, God offers something deeper. In fact, the Bible is a guidebook to real and lasting happiness.

But let’s be honest: Are you happy? Not momentarily entertained, but happy even when you’re alone?

Many of us confuse pleasure with happiness. We seek quick relief through entertainment, substances, and distractions—yet still feel empty. But this type of happiness will fade, and so does our joy.

Jesus challenges this mindset in Luke 12:13–21, when a man asks him to resolve a family dispute over money. But Jesus replies:

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Luke 12:15 NIV

He tells the story of a rich man who stores up wealth and tells himself to, “Eat, drink, and be merry.” But God calls him a fool:

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

Luke 12:20 NIV

Jesus ends by saying this:

“This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God. Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. [23] For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

Luke 12:21-23 NIV

We were made for more.

Our lives are more than our job title, our weight, our wealth, our GPA, or our social media feed. Those things don’t define happiness—not even when they’re going well.

Real joy comes from a relationship with God, a purpose beyond possessions, and a life that gives rather than takes.

To the person who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness …

Ecclesiastes 2:26 NIV

When our hearts are centered on God, our lives begin to transform. Our choices change. Our character grows. And we discover happiness that doesn’t fade with circumstances.

We can be happy—even if our circumstances don’t change—when our relationship with God deepens.

Some of us, even as Christians, are walking around joyless. That’s not the life God wants for us. Galatians 4:15 asks:

Where is that joyful and grateful spirit you felt…?

According to a 2023 Wall Street Journal/University of Chicago poll, only 12% of Americans say they’re “very happy”—the lowest in 50 years.

That’s why we need God’s happiness formula.

And it’s why we’re so excited about what’s ahead.

Spreading Happiness

One of the greatest things we can do as Christians is spread happiness. We’re planning to do that in some big ways over the next three, five, and ten years:

  • We want to expand our reach in the Bay Area by growing from nine to 10 campuses. This gives more people in more places the opportunity to find God and a spiritual community.
  • We will continue to train new leaders, ensuring that at least 50% of our leadership is made up of Millennials and Gen Zers.
  • We plan to expand our E-Life programs to include E-Health and E-Education.
  • We will build “Beacon of Hope” communities – with tiny homes and wraparound care for adults with disabilities.
  • We will build our digital presence to reach at least 1 million subscribers on Deep Spirituality. This is to empower everyone, everywhere to experience biblical Christianity.

We believe every person deserves access to true happiness, and we are providing the tools to find it.

Together, let’s share the happiness we’ve found—and help the world rediscover the God who made us for more.

Who can you spread happiness to today?

Till next time,
