“And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”
Acts 10:38 NLT
Fall is one of our favorite seasons at the Bay Area Christian Church—not just for the cooler weather and fall colors, but because it brings one of our more inspiring traditions: Trunk or Treat Sunday!
On Sunday, October 26th, all nine of our campuses across the Bay Area will host Trunk or Treats or other inclusive and sensory-friendly seasonal activities at the end of our Sunday Services. These events are designed to serve our communities by creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for every family.
Trunk or Treat is more than just an alternative to the traditional trick-or-treat—it’s an opportunity to imitate the heart of Jesus, who “went around doing good.” When we create spaces that are inclusive and understanding, we’re not just hosting an event—we’re practicing what we believe.
Learning, loving, and including like Jesus
At BACC, inclusion is not an add-on; it’s at the heart of how we build community. We recognize that one of the fastest-growing parts of our population includes people with neurodiverse diagnoses—such as autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and sensory processing differences.
A 2024 study covering over 12 million people found that autism diagnoses alone in the U.S. increased by 175% between 2011 and 2022. This reminds us that inclusion isn’t optional—it’s essential.
That’s why neurodiverse inclusion has become part of BACC’s DNA. We believe true inclusion goes beyond “letting people in the room.” It’s about building environments where all minds can thrive—not by asking neurodivergent people to fit into existing systems, but by adapting our systems to celebrate and support every kind of mind God has created.
Doing good, together
Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. [14] Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
Colossians 3:12,14 NLT
When we learn together, we break down stigma, build empathy, and create relationships grounded in mutual respect.
Our annual Trunk or Treat Sunday is a joyful reflection of this mission. It’s a family-friendly opportunity to serve our neighbors, celebrate creativity, and learn new ways to make inclusion fun, educational, and inspiring for everyone who participates.
We love watching the imaginative, kind, and creative hearts of our members shine as they decorate their trunks and welcome families from every background. It’s a day that reminds us all of this simple truth: doing good together brings joy to everyone involved.

Moving forward
Let’s make this Trunk or Treat the most inclusive and inspiring one yet!

These short but powerful studies are meant to help us build conviction by setting our hearts and our minds on God’s Word.
Together, we are not just building a church; we are building a legacy.
