Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.

2 Corinthians 9:11 (NLT)

We want to thank you all for the outpouring of generous support you have provided since we announced our Ukraine Relief Efforts last week! The European Missions Society and the Ukraine Relief Network confirmed that they have received our donations and said that they are very thankful to the Bay Area Christian Church.

Of course, if you would still like to donate, you can continue to give to our Ukraine relief efforts at any time.

Today, we want to give you some heartening stories of the ways your contributions are already helping people in need in Ukraine.

The story of the Ukraine Relief Network

Christian Ray Flores, who started the Ukraine Relief Network, spoke on the Deep Spirituality podcast this week about how his organization is delivering funding directly to those who need it in Ukraine. In the podcast episode, he explains that when he saw the millions of displaced people in Ukraine, he recognized that many of them had immediate needs for things like gas, food, and warm clothing.

So he created the Ukraine Relief Network as a decentralized way to immediately get funding in the hands of those who need it. Because of this funding, people who are fleeing dangerous areas in sub-zero temperatures can get money for food, shelter, and other necessities.

In one particularly moving story, Christian shared that this week the Ukraine Relief Network was able to supply gasoline to a courageous group of men who happened to have a minivan and took it upon themselves to drive into hotspots in Kyiv and ferry families to train stations.

The European Missions Society supports Ukraine and surrounding areas

In addition to the Ukraine Relief Network, we also contributed to the European Missions Society, which supports Christians in churches in eastern, western, and central Europe. Through this fund, we have been able to support churches like the one in Chisinau, Moldova, which is currently hosting over 100 Ukrainian refugees.

Let’s continue to pray for peace in Ukraine.

Till next week,

BACC Staff
