“Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant…for even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

— Matthew 20:26,28

Serving the Bay Area together

At the heart of the BACC is a team of leaders who are devoted to making God audible to the world and building a spiritual community. For decades, we have cultivated a shared approach to leadership. Working as a team, our executive and lead ministers along with our campus leaders and staff create a balanced leadership that is multi-generational, diverse by conviction, and built to empower. Each member of our team brings not only decades of experience in ministry and education in the Bay Area but also diverse expertise in business, healthcare, professional athletics, social innovation, inclusive technology, and more.

We believe that the best thing we can do as a church is to create a spiritual community where each individual member has a thriving relationship with God. Our leadership team ensures that God is at the center of everything we do.
Our leaders bring world-class experience to every campus. In addition to decades of ministry leadership, members of our team have studied at the USF Graduate School of Management, played for the San Francisco 49ers, received graduate degrees from Stanford and UC Berkeley, and led teams in healthcare and finance.
We believe that when women are empowered to lead, everyone benefits. At the BACC, women’s ministry leaders make up half of our leadership team—a reflection of the fact that women’s perspectives, talents, and wisdom have always played an essential role in the history of the church and are vital to its future. Our women’s ministry leaders actively help shape the direction of the church, mentor other women in leadership, and speak and teach at events where women of all ages are inspired to pursue lives of purpose, impact, and service.
The BACC is dedicated to social impact in our community, regardless of the religious affiliation of the people we serve. Our leadership team spearheads this effort. Members of the team have been honored with a Jefferson Award for community service, partnered with institutions like UC Berkeley and USF to serve children with disabilities and their families, and facilitated ongoing partnerships with local government agencies to serve the Bay Area.

BACC’s leadership team spans every generation—from Baby Boomers to millennials with Gen Z on the way. We believe in building people’s lives and helping them grow, which includes actively investing in mentorship and the spiritual formation of young leaders.

Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

A leadership team that’s built to last.

We encourage each of our staff members to be bivocational, which means they continue to develop a career path that allows them to stay connected with their community while serving in ministry. This has many benefits to our staff members, the church, and the community.

Those who are interested in ministry can receive training and experience alongside their career development, making it easy to explore whether ministry is the right path for them.

Our ministry staff members stay connected with the needs of the broader community outside the church through their bivocational roles. Members of our ministry staff are also educators, administrators, web developers, program directors, counselors, and more. These roles enable our staff to meet, serve, and listen to friends and neighbors who might never step into a church building.

By staying involved in the greater community and continuing to develop their professional skills, our staff continually leads the church forward in innovation and excellence.

Meet the team

Our team of ministers and campus leaders work together so that every person who walks through our doors gets the support they need to grow their own relationship with God.
