We hope you’ll join us for an incredible experience at this year’s Holiday Celebration service! This festive event is a holiday favorite for many all over the Bay Area. You can enjoy musical performances, an inspiring sermon themed “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and fun for the whole family!
Check out some of the highlights you can expect this year:
1. Annual Toy Drive
Bring an unwrapped toy or gift card to contribute to our ninth annual Toy Drive. At the Bay Area Christian Church, we believe deeply in giving back to our community and helping those in need as much as we can. Every year the middle schoolers and teenagers in our Y ministry run this toy drive and provide thousands of toys to children in need throughout the Bay Area.
2. Santa’s Playland and Polar Express Train Rides
Got kids? Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered. Santa’s Playland is full of jump castles, slides, and of course one of our favorite attractions: a Polar Express train. Santa’s Playland opens before the service from 1-2 pm and will reopen after the service ends from 3:30-5 pm for children and parents to enjoy.
3. Family Portraits
Still need that Christmas card photo? It’s not too late! Take advantage of our free family portraits located in different parts of the Convention Center before and after the service (1-2 pm and 3:30-4:30 pm). Come visit the professional photographers in the upper lobby for a Christmas tree backdrop or Santa’s Playland for a photo with Santa Claus himself!
4. Refreshments
Enjoy some coffee, tea and refreshments in the Great America Foyer before the service begins. Get a chance to meet someone new or connect with old friends and family, as this event attracts people from all over the Bay Area.
5. A Cast of Characters
As you walk through the halls on your way to service keep your eyes out for some special holiday guests … In the past, we’ve been visited by the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, Ebenezer Scrooge and of course, Mr. and Mrs. Claus!
6. Children’s Ministry and Spiritual Resource Ministry Classes
Spiritual Resource Ministry classes will be available during the service, providing an inclusive and sensory-friendly class for children with special needs of all ages. In addition, children’s ministry classes will be available for children aged 4 years and under. During the service the children’s ministry classes will visit Santa’s Playland and ride the Polar Express train.
7. Musical Performances
A holiday celebration wouldn’t be complete without great music! Sing along to the Christmas carols and enjoy performances throughout the service.
8. An Inspiring Service
And of course, we can’t forget the inspiration of the service itself. The holidays are a great time of year to focus on our faith. You will leave inspired as you listen to the Scriptures and keynote lesson themed “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
So mark your calendars for 2 pm on Sunday December 11 at the Santa Clara Convention Center! Can’t wait to see you there!
