We had an amazing campus retreat this past weekend, entitled “Bold,” and we want to see our faith, inspiration, and boldness continue growing through the end of school and into the summer.  For the next 7 days, we will be releasing daily quiet time starters “Living Boldly” to kick start our day and inspire us to take action.  Our theme Scripture inspires us how we can impact those around us.

1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 NIV
For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, [5] because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

This passage breaks down the 7 areas we need to focus on to Live Boldly.  We will be focusing on each of these topics and the book of Acts to teach and inspire one another to Live Boldly!  Join us on a journey to become bold.

Daily Quiet Time Starters

Part 1 – Loved by God

Part 2 – Chosen

Part 3 – Not Simply Words

Part 4 – Spiritual Power

Part 5 – Holy Spirit

Part 6 – Deep Convictions

Part 7 – Living Boldly!

Part 3 – Not Simply Words

Hebrews 4:12 (NLT)
12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

The Bible isn’t like any other book. It has the power to change our hearts and help us overcome anything. The Bible can bring back to life parts of our hearts that we’e shut down.

James 1:22-25 (NLT)
22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

The Bible is personal. It helps us to understand who we really are and who God is calling us to be. It’s power resides in our willingness to apply it to our lives.

Joshua 1:8 (NIrV)
8 Never stop reading this Book of the Law. Day and night you must think about what it says. Make sure you do everything written in it. Then things will go well with you. And you will have great success.

The only way to grow and be successful in every part of our lives is to obey the Bible. What area of our life do we need the bible to influence and change?
