But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish.

Psalm 9:18 NIV

For he has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned his back on them, but has listened to their cries for help.

Psalm 22:24 NLT

Remember you, too, were destitute slaves in Egypt. That’s why I’m commanding you to do this and provide for the needy people around you.

Deuteronomy 24:22 Voice

And love means living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: Live a life of love.

2 John 6 NCV

I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger.

Job 29:16 NIV

Regardless of how large or small our needs are, God’s compassion comforts our hearts. Just knowing God never forgets, ignores or belittles our needs makes us feel loved and gives us hope. God’s compassion in our lives is meant to drive us to care for others and inspire them to hope. When we live in love, like God, we adopt people into our hearts like family. We become people who fight to make a difference in the lives of others.

Write down a time when God used someone in your life to provide for a real need you had. Pray for someone that God has put in your life with a real need. Think of a way to pay it forward!

This is a post in a series called “15 Days to Become a Force For Good,” which is a follow up to our 2017 Expo.
