Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
Philippians 2:3 MSG

28 Be like the Son of Man. He did not come to be served. Instead, he came to serve others. He came to give his life as the price for setting many people free.
Matthew 20:28 NIrV

4 “Look at that man, bloated by self-importance— full of himself but soul-empty. But the person in right standing before God through loyal and steady believing is fully alive, really alive.
Habakkuk 2:4 MSG

God set an example for us, through Jesus, of how to love others by considering people’s needs and serving them. In order to become someone who is a force for good in the lives of your friends, start examining and identifying sins like conceit, selfishness, laziness, envy, jealousy, and bitterness.  Pray about these sins, ask for forgiveness and study scriptures that teach you how to change them. Then, you can imitate the way Jesus served people. As we help others grow, we grow, and we will change the world through doing good.

Set aside time to read the Bible, pray, and consider how God wants you to change to be close to him and grow in your love for others.

Who are 3 people in your life that you can spend time with to serve?

This is a post in a series called “15 Days to Become a Force For Good,” which is a follow up to our 2017 Expo.
